According to Ned Nwoko, social media need some level of regulation and oversight in countries where it operates.
He made the revelation while addressing at a seminar hosted by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Abuja Council’s Correspondents Chapel on June 12.
He said;
“On the current issue with Twitter in Nigeria, I wholeheartedly support the position of the Federal Government.
“There should be a measure of control and regulation for social media in countries where they have a presence.”
In addition to his support of the ban, the billionaire businessman enlightened that social media platforms must pay taxes to governments and provide employment for some Nigerians.
